Unfortunately, since the pandemic started in January 2020 in Malaysia, SMEs are being hit hardest by the fall-out of the pandemic. It’s recorded that over 75% of SMEs are experiencing a reduction in revenues through 2020. A group of students from University of Malaya recently conducted a SULAM activity to support those SMEs by creating a new Facebook page (@Graciously Marketing) to promote their businesses - products and services. Social media is one of the popular platforms to reach the public, especially to attract those potential customers. With the objective to help SMEs rise to challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and attract new customers for them, they put in the effort to design posters with descriptions to promote the SMEs. They hope that using this kind of method can help those SMEs by increasing their sales and income. Furthermore, they also collect some feedback from the SMEs who are promoted on the page. Overall, majority of SMEs agree that social media is a good platform to promote a business, especially in this pandemic period, people are encouraged to stay at home as the cases increase day by day and online business have become more familiar to reach with the customers.
