Following the 2020 'Concert of the Ladies Tunes Fluttering the Nusantara’, the ProArt Chinese Orchestra went on a three-year hiatus due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. This year, in celebrating the ProArt Chinese Orchestra's 25th anniversary, we are proud to present its silver jubilee concert. We are honored to invite the renowned Chinese erhu player, Mr. Gao Yang, along with a young Malaysian pipa player, our orchestra's principal pipa player, Miss Chan Tzu Sien, to perform a erhu and pipa duet concerto entitled 'Destiny’. The concert will also feature classical Chinese orchestra pieces namely Jiang Ying's 'Impressions of Chinese Music' and Liu Wenjin's 'My Motherland’. Other highlights of the concert are 'Joyful Penang’, which depicts the thriving scenery of Penang, as well as 'Rangkaian Lagu-lagu Melayu’ which incorporates Malay melodies into its composition. We are also proud to present the' Bamboo Forest', a composition by the renowned Malaysian composer, Miss Teh Tze Siew.
